Easy parking. No steps. The lake side and grounds are all on the flat and very accessible. Should you wish to bring fishing gear they can be placed in the barn for easy access. This is NOT a carp fishing holiday its a bonus and its free exclusively to you!
Your Kitchen and Lounge Views Overlook your Own Private Garden
Whilst having breakfast enjoy watching the red squirrels scampering about your garden. We are a conservation area for hares, they can often be seen boxing a bizarre sight. Its not unusual to spot the red deer walking through the garden to take a drink down by the lake. Picnic benches are set around your own private lake to take in the delights of fish jumping and kingfishers swooping.
A meal is often enjoyed under the shaded terrace and perhaps an evening BBQ.

We are a countryside location but not isolated.
Within 8 Minutes by Car are the villages- Aiguillon,Clairac-offering shops, cafes , restaurants, banks, ATM machines, 24hr supermarket fuel, chemist, and most importantly an excellent Doctors clinic.
Wonderful walks or cycling on flat terrain along the country roads, or along the cycle tracks adjacent to the canal waterways between Toulouse and Bordeaux.
Why this property:
Our property offers you pristine clean comfort, peace and quiet. A child free zone!
The area known as the Lot et Garonne in Nouvelle Aquitaine has all the seasons you would expect in England. Yes indeed an early spring with March showers instead of April!
Summer mid May but the heat some what intense by August.
October autumn creeps up slowly and early January becomes quickly cold and can be a regular -7, brrr very cold one year we woke with -19!!! But the seasons are there nevertheless.
The area is diverse with agriculture, from salads, vegetables, orchards including apples, kiwis, prunes and pears.
Where we are situated we are not isolated good shops just 8 mins away and vibrant towns just 30 mins. We have easy access in Agen to the TGV opening many routes.
Unique benefits:
Tranquillity peace and quiet.Yet we are not isolated. Just 15 minutes from the autoroute. 30 minutes from Agen and Villeneuve sur Lot. We are 10 minutes from the train station that can have you in Bordeaux within the hr.
Please, remember this is not a fishing holiday it’s just a bonus, enjoy the ambiance perhaps having a picnic, watching the fish jumping and swimming around the lake or perhaps borrow our rods and try your hand. For the keen fisherman should you bring your rods we give you access to store your gear in an outbuilding.
Limited Mobility:
The cottage/ gite has no steps. We have in the past guests that use a wheelchair and have experienced no difficulty.
The accommodation is excellent for those with mobility problems as the rooms are large. The land is flat and the surrounding country lanes have no inclines which again makes it a pleasure for walks and or terrain wheelchairs .

What Our Guests Say...
We saw four different species of orchids. Lizard, pyramidal, tongue and bee orchid

Our first visit to this lovely place Gone Fishin and we have been made so welcome.
Jenny and Alan have been so friendly and helpful and have gone the extra mile to make our visit enjoyable.
John so very much enjoyed his fishing including common carp, black bass and the little sun perch.
We saw four different species of orchids lizard, pyramidal, tongue and bee orchid all on the property Gone Fishin.
The Prune Museum was so very interesting and later in the day Marliac Water Lily garden which was stunning.
Many of the villages are very picturesque especially Pujols , Praysass and Laparade.
The Creperie and Routier called Remmies came highly recommended but make sure you have a big appetite for the latter.
2 Lovely Weeks In September At This Very Spacious Spotless Gite

We spent 2 lovely weeks in September at this very spacious, spotless gite. Alan and Jenny were extremely friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them. Nick managed to catch 20+ carp between 7-12lbs. Loads to do in the area and Bordeaux definitely worth a visit. Must go to eat at Remys (ask Jenny to book). Would highly recommend. Lovely Gite With The Fishing So Close

What a lovely gîte with the fishing so close. Thank you Jenny and Alan for allowing us to come before you were officially open.
I am sure we will be booking again so we can look more closely at the places we hadn’t time to visit properly and to have a proper go at there carp. Can we take kermit home with us please.
Best wishes Alan and Kay.
A Warm Personal Welcome Including The Brilliant Meal

Thank you Jenny and Alan for a warm personal welcome including the brilliant meal and other bonus extras.
The gîte is very tastefully appointed and very comfortable, and the garden area so well laid out and furnished for serious sunbathing.
Large enough to gamble gayly and enjoy.
Throughout our stay Jenny and Alan have been very helpful with local information also a continuous supply of eggs, strawberries, and cherries.
Jenny… you paid us the compliment of telling us we were the perfect guests, can we reverse the compliment… you are the perfect hosts.

A Pleasure To Enjoy Jenny And Alan’s Wonderful Welcome And Warmth

This has been our first time in the Lot et Garonne and it was a pleasure to enjoy Jenny and Alan’s wonderful welcome and warmth. A week it’s not time enough to enjoy all that the area has to offer, in consequence we shall return
The weather has been great and this allowed us to cover so many miles on our hired bicycles (I recommend this Bike Company).
The meal at Remmy’s is an occurrence not to be missed.
Many previous guests have endorsed their appreciation of the quality and care that Jenny and Alan place into gîte, this can only be restated and enforce by ourselves.
Thank you Jenny and Alan and we hope to see you for two weeks in 2018. A bonus for me was to have the bikes and in our interest with Alan re the TT.
Everything Is Spick And Span We Feel At Home Straight Away

Very many thanks for such a wonderful welcome again. It is such a joy to know that everything is spick and span we feel at home straight away
You certainly go above and beyond to make us feel welcome & comfortable. Thank you once again for a great stay. We will be back. Even Kermit welcomed us back. All the best Stella and Gerard
Repeat Visitors To Gone Fishin

Like many others we are repeat visitors to Gone Fishin in the Lot et Garonne .
And that something, in fact an awful lot. It’s not a coincidence that folk keep coming back.
Although the weather at this time was not as kind as previous visits it did not stop us getting out and about to our old haunts and finding new places.
This really is a lovely part of France with many other great places within a half days drive if you’re so inclined or just chill out with a bottle of wine in the garden and watch kites and hares.
Thank you Jenny and Alan for another lovely holiday. PS don’t forget many restaurants and shop still closed on Mondays.
A Pleasure To Return To Find Familiar Surroundings

What a pleasure to return to find familiar surroundings. The chickens and the lovely eggs ( they hadn’t arrived when we were here last year). It is such a very lovely area so peaceful and relaxing and that we were able to visit some new places and revisit our favourites. The weather was settled in fact it very hot the last few days.We managed to fit in a trip to Bordeaux which was very enjoyable except perhaps the last-minute dash for the train home!
We sampled more of the local cuisine this time and enjoy every meal we had..
Thank you so much Alan and Jenny for getting as on the right roads , literally, and for your enjoyable company.
We hope the seeds take (that you gave us from your garden) and next Summer we can look at them with fondest memories. Good luck for November with you’re planting of the new Forest Project
Best wishes Joyce and Ian xx

Most of all, thank you Jenny and Alan for your friendship and help and that warm welcome when we arrived. Facebook Reviews here
